Sunday Stash, the Road Trip edition

Denyse Schmidt. Salty Aire.

Michael Miller Ta Dot on the left.
Amy Butler on the right.
Heather Bailey on top.

I don't know what this is, it was in the random FQ box.  Any idea?

Because there was a road trip, there was also laughter, cheesecake, coffee, friends and more laughter.  Shame I don't have any photos of that stuff, the fabric shopping was nice, but the day out was the best part :)

{nine} Sunday Stash

A bit of a collection today for a Sunday Stash.  Denyse Schmidt!

First there was the Picnic and Fairgrounds collection.

Then came Winding Roads.

This led to the need to make a new friend overseas so I could add the US exclusive fabrics from these ranges to my DS collection.  The above photo is a combination of Sugar Creek and Picnic and Fairgrounds not available in Australia.  Thanks Alecia!

It has me excited about a quilt to come when I see all these together.  A Mosaic Block quilt? A Spiderweb Block quilt? Both?

I am now just waiting on the soon to be released Salty Aire Collection before I start sewing :)

Sunday Stash

The kit that started it all!
Dick and Jane ~ Sally Look Quilt

I bought this kit before I had any plans of learning to quilt.  I didn't know who Michael Miller was, or what a walking foot did.  I didn't own a rotary cutter or ruler.
I just really liked it, and the lunch box it came in!

Of course I now own it, and all the other bits and bobs needed to put this quilt kit together but for some strange reason I still have not started on it.

Sunday Stash

Oh how I love these two fabrics!  Both are Spotlight cottons and I got them very cheap on the sale rack for $3/m for the kitties and a tad more for the babies.

West 22nd CX3433 FLORAL KITTY"S

West 22nd CX3423 BABY'S DAY

I am in the process of making Possum a dress using the babies before she is too old for such prints.

My photos do not really do these prints justice, feel free to give me photography tips!

Sunday Stash

Someone recently asked about patterns which got me thinking about how many I own, which is a few.  I thought it would make a good Sunday Stash mention.

I decided to start with the Make it Perfect range. Toni is a super clever Aussie Mum pattern designer who I can't say enough nice things about.  Go over and check out her blog!

From the top left in the photo the patterns I have are:
Summer fling top
The versatile wrap skirt
Flirty skirts
Lazy day hat
Little Explorer shorts
Pinny #2
Pinny #1
Bloom top

I want to add the Downtown boy jacket to this list very soon :)

Sunday Stash

No, I am not mad! I realise that today is in fact Tuesday. But I thought this would be perfect for a Sunday Stash post and I am too excited to wait that long. I am away this weekend anyway so consider this me getting organised in advance!

Beautiful large balls of 100% cotton from Bendigo Woollen Mills!
I was very good and only ordered three balls in Honeydew, Wild Lavender and Denim Cotton colours.

This is going to be perfect for quiet evenings knitting over the summer months and given that my Lighting situation in my lounge room is about to improve I should have something nice whipped up in no time ;)

Sunday Stash

Katie Jump Rope ~ Daisy Bouquet on Red
With the exception of a few teeny tiny scraps, this is the only Denise Schmidt in my stash.
I may have to do something about that as I really like it.

Blogtober #25 ~ Sunday Stash

Kokka green apple alphabet.
I have not done a Sunday Stash before now. I don't have much of a stash to speak of, but I am working on that! Blogtober seemed like a good excuse to start a new meme, which in turn might be a good excuse to buy more fabric... Sounds good to me anyway :)

Blogtober #14 ~ Shopping!

I have been doing A LOT of shopping of late... I have been trying to be good, but whenever there is a sale on I fall off the wagon. In some cases I don't wait for a sale to backslide either!

I have started collecting fabrics with the Around the Block quilting bee in mind. I want to make a quilt for Baby Bug. The only problem is I am not sure what to add to the below collection to make it great.

PLEASE give me ideas here, what would you add? I am picturing blue and green Wonky Log Cabin blocks...

Blue stripe from my LQS (50% off)
Spots, Musical Animals , Squirrels from Kelani

Some charm squares to become a baby blanket and a layer cake to become this quilt (unless I change my mind in the mean time).

Arcadia Layer Cake and Sultry Charm Squares from My LQS (30% off)

And last, but not least, a lot of fabric bought during the HUGE sale and Bella & Vintage Chic awhile ago.

I am now on a fabric ban, with the exception of the boy quilt mentioned above!
