  1. I'm really enjoying Kerry Greenwood's Phryne Fisher series at the moment - detective mysteries set in Melbourne in the late 1920's, they are very indulgent escapism! Recently I've really enjoyed The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, and Breath by Tim Winton :).

What is your criteria for including things like Meet Me at Mikes? Do you need to read it cover to cover including all of the instructions for each project? I'm wondering if I can legitimately include it on my list!

  2. Great list! I have the Boy In Striped Pyjamas in my to-read pile. I'm immersed in the Sookie Stackhouse vampire books at the moment. Really enjoying them!

  3. Ah yes, the craft books...

I did read those two cover to cover so put them in, I have 'read' a lot more not listed due to the usual browsing nature of such publications.

I won't say I read all of the instructions for every project, much like some parts of a book get skimmed more quickly than others.

Hope that helps with setting a criteria dillpickle :)

  4. That is an impressive list Becky. Wow. I'm sure 100 books seems 'do-able' when you first start, but once the year gets underway and everyday life happens, it must be a challenge to find time to read. Good luck with the next 6 months.

  5. What a fun list.
May I suggest The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Speare (Newbery winner). And The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale. Neither are found in the adult section, but both are such excellent reads. :)

  7. Thanks Becky :)

I’ve been keeping a list of books I read for the past few years – last year was the best since records began (85) but includes several books from the primary school library that I was working at (chapter books only – picture books don’t count!). This year I’m only up to 16 (appalling) but I have a 6 month old as an excuse!
