Beanie

In addition to being a beginner sewer, I am also learning to knit. To date I have managed a scarf, a tea cosy, a beanie for myself, and now a beanie for Miss almost 1.

I try to make sure that each project I start teaches me at least one new thing, for this beanie it was ribbing. Not sure what I will work on next, but Dad has put an order in for a beanie in time for Winter so will keep an eye out for the right yarn for that project.

I have joined the local branch of the NSW knitters guild and made it to their last meeting for 2008 so am looking forward to being inspired in 2009 by all the talented ladies in the area.

HAPPY Christmas?

..... An unhappy Christmas photo

Poor Miss had a Santa photo today and she did NOT like Santa at all. She was happy to sit back and watch the other children go and say hello but did not want to pass on her own Christmas wish list!

Baubles

I found these little glass baubles at Spotlight after a tip on EB so I set off to see what I could do with them.

I spent an hour curling small strips of Christmas paper into each bauble until they were full. These photos do not really do them justice, they actually look really soft and pretty and I am considering buying another set.

Can you believe I have already broken one! I tapped it to prove to my brother that it really was made out of glass... I am such a dork and should not be allowed to stay up past Big Dog for fear of doing something silly!

I also heard round the traps that Harvey Normal has clear Baubles that split in half and let you insert a photo so will have to check those out as well.
