My Creative Space

The other day Little Blue wore these overalls.  I didn't like them because the button closure on the crotch made nappy changing a bugger.

I was going to put them in the charity bin when I thought about a couple of clever and crafty ladies known to refashion clothes...

I decided to cut off the bottom crotch part of the overalls and sew on a ruffle all the way around.
I am pretty happy with the new bib and brace style dress that I have created!

I think it might be a little bit mermaid like, but paired with her favourite shoes the girl says it's ok.

  1. Oh I have a couple of pairs of overalls for Le Punk in the "stuff I really should get around to doing something with one of these days" pile - I had this very idea, but I KNOW mine won't look as spiffy - the overalls aren't yellow for a start...! SO CUTE... (and so is the dress... lol)

  13. Great idea! I don't think it looks mermaid like at all.

I often think about prolonging the life of a favourite t-shirt but always balk at the idea of cutting it up. Perhaps I should try with a not-so-favourite one and then maybe once I make the first cut, I will be braver the next time.
