SIT ~ In which I appear

I am not a fan of photos that include myself, but in the interest of full disclosure, here are some that I have seen popping up from the big weekend away.  I look tired in all of them, next time I might skip the shopping and sleep instead (or not!).

Good friend Kylie and I on the last morning.

Stitching away with Renae and Posie

Kylie and I again on Saturday night :)

I shamelessly stole these photos from Kylie and Kathy.
If I see any more pop up I will add them in.

SIT ~ The Shops

Calico & Ivy.  I LOVED this shop.  So many beautiful bits and pieces, including both fabric and yarn.  I bought 12 balls of Debbie Bliss and a pattern book.  I also met Amy Badskirt.  My head is still spinning!

Prints Charming.  More love found here!  I bought quite a lot of panels, a Christmas decoration kit and a Scrap pack.  I will be busy!

How wonderful for us to be able to sit in the studio for a stitching session complete with bubbly and nibbles.  This was a highlight of the trip for me!

In addition to a workshop held by Kathy of Material Obsession held on the Saturday, we also got to go to her shop on Sunday.  Kathy's shop is BEAUTIFUL!  So much colour, so many great quilts and her enthusiasm made this just a little bit special.

I bought the Material Obsession book, and nearly 8 meters of fabric.  I also bought a wedge ruler (who didn't?) and a flying geese ruler.  Kathy said tools were a great way to help you use your stash, she has also   blogged about SIT here if you would like to look :)

There is plenty more to show off, but this is a good start for today :)

Carry on?

Both children wanted to come to Sydney with me, Blue tried to pretend he was carry on baggage and Possum crafted her own ticket for the plane trip.

I missed them!

My Creative Space ~ Abalone

Yesterday in between sipping a Latte and eating Vanilla slice at Playgroup (I love Playgroup!) I finished sewing the ends in on the Abalone cardigan I have been knitting.  I don't like sewing ends in so had been putting it off but I want to take it to Sydney with me for the weekend so had to get it done.

I really loved this pattern.  It was interesting enough that i didn't get bored with miles of stocking stitch and the wool is Malabrigo worsted which is just perfect!  I am going to enjoy wearing this a lot.

I liked this wool so much that as soon as I cast off this cardigan I knit myself a beanie seen here on Possum.

The pattern is Abalone found free on Ravelry, or here for the non Ravelers.

Rainy Day

Possum loves this pink Charlie and Lola umbrella she was given last Christmas.  A rainy day is more fun when you can go outside.  Blue had a turn too, but I think he needs to work on his technique...

Weekend Fun

We had a great weekend here.  We had visitors which involved scones with homemade fig jam and at least two teapots on the table.  It also involved a wonderful roast lamb lunch with all the trimmings.

I also finished knitting my cardigan (pictures soon) and with the same wool, cast on this beanie for myself.
It is a free pattern on Ravelry, or available here via the designers blog.  It was quick, easy, and used less than 50g of worsted weight wool.  Perfect for a quick weekend project!

Possum has already tried to claim it as her own, but she is out of luck with this beanie.

Happy Friday

Wishing everyone a happy weekend full of fun stuff.

I have knitting planned, I am on the last few LONG rows of my cardigan!!  I also better factor in some time for cleaning and cooking given we have family visiting on Sunday.  I am also starting to get excited about my trip to Sydney to catch up with some friends, have fun and go shopping!

Lots of fun stuff here :)

The kids both discovered that putting rocks in your gumboots is only fun until you try to walk somewhere...  At least it kept them busy for awhile!
