At my house...

At my house we are enjoying the Spring in the air and spending time outside.
With all the recent rain we have had we are off to a great start.

Some of us have been having more fun than others...

Blue discovered that playing in the mud was a better idea than trying to eat it.
At least he was not climbing on the table this time!

We have been making new friends too :)

I have even found some time for some sewing so our house is feeling pretty good right now!

My Creative Space

While I was away Blue discovered that walking may be out of his league (for now) but climbing was not....

He has been found on (and fallen off) the lounge, the coffee table, and highest of all, the large outdoor table in the front yard.

I have the last two lots of fabric sitting here for Around the Block round 1 which is my goal for the next few days.  Amy has just posted out her fabric for ATB round 2 so I need to catch up!

For more Creative Spaces visit Kirsty :)

Did anyone notice that my post is about nothing actually creative?  No?  Good!  Maybe next week when I can (I hope) say I finished the blocks, made the kids hats, knitted something or even cooked something....

Camp

Photo stolen from Lisa's Blog.
I'm on the left with Em and Tara.

I had to have a large sleep in today to recover from the fun that was Spin Camp.
I did some knitting, spinning, drinking and a lot of laughing as promised.

Maybe too much drinking...

Thank you girls.
Once again catching up has been fun, and just what I needed!

My Creative Space

We have been enjoying the sunshine over the last few days.  We have been walking about to check on lambs and spending time in the garden.  It has been lovely to relax after the big 1.5 weeks of hard work clearing and stacking junk ready for the scrap man.

I took time out to make lemonade using the lemons from our tree.
There are still a lot left and I have frozen a lot of juice into cubes for keeping but think lemon shortbread and lemon pudding might be on the menu soon...

Lemonade

1 cup water
1 cup caster sugar
1 cup lemon juice
soda water

Melt sugar in water and allow to cool.
Mix in Lemon Juice.
Use like cordial and mix with soda water.

Visit Kirsty's for more creative spaces.

This one time...

Today I started to gather equipment and think ahead to the adventures in store for me over the weekend.  I am heading to the coast to Spin Camp with friends and I am excited.

The programme looks daunting but I should come home with stories to share and perhaps even some new found skill on the wheel too...  I am going to drink and eat and make merry and I can't wait!

Thanks to  good friend Emily I have fiber ready to go.  I hope I can turn it into something wonderful!

It will be a welcome break from tractors and little lambs.

Drumroll...

The big giveaway has been drawn!

I was going to do the random number thing, and I was going to do names in a hat but I ended up asking the Mr to pick a number between 1 and 66 (it was quicker!).

He chose 66 citing alliteration as the reason so the winner is...

Thanks for a great giveaway, please do count me in!

Give me a week to knit the cloth up and I will get the whole package in the post.
I still have the Mr's folks here and we have been super busy every day (I am exhausted!).

Thank you to everyone who entered :)

Happy Birthday

It feels like there are no more babies in the house because Little Blue has turned ONE!

At 1, you are such a cheeky boy, you already look at me with a raised eyebrow if I ask you not to do something.

You are very happy nearly always and if you are sad it is usually just a case of working out if you want food or sleep.

You love being outside.  You love to sit in the potted mint and the water bowl is always fun.  You crawl through all the garden beds, especially the newly turned ones just to create an extra washing challenge.

You have 8 teeth.  You love to clap and wave and you say Mum, Dad, Ta and Yes.

Happy Birthday :)

A BIG giveaway

I have decided to have a BIG giveaway to mark my return to My Creative Space, to celebrate moving, and to mark my 300th post in the last week too.

I am giving away THREE patterns, TWO handmade soaps and ONE knitted dishcloth.  Not the dishcloth pictured as that is mine and has been used.  I am casting on a new fantastic cloth for the winner!

Each comment is worth an entry, if you follow and tell me I will add an entry AND if you blog about this giveaway (and let me know) I will add an extra entry.
Make sure I can get in touch, leave your email if you don't have it linked to your profile.

I will leave entries open a week.  Best of luck, and thank you :)

In the last week I have learnt...

Fashion Gumboots are useless for actual work.

Sheep love to eat roses and citrus.

Even if you are CONVINCED you have lost weight, you should NEVER jump up and down in front of a mirror nude to see what wobbles, and how much....

Converted

When I  moved (a whole three weeks ago!) I could not find the dish sponge in the kitchen related box so I used a knitted cloth from the linen cupboard.  I had been gifted a couple, and made a few but the kids had been using then in the bath.

I won't go back to the old sponge now, I have been converted!  The knitted dishcloth is wonderful.  I have discovered that the darker cotton colours hold up best and it is wonderful to be able to toss it in the machine every few cycles.  The Mythbusters would be happy!  Hard to believe that the little kitchen sponge was the dirtiest thing they tested beating even the dreaded public toilet, ick!

There are heaps of free patterns on Ravelry and it is a good chance to test some new stitches or techniques.   I am overdue for a giveaway so maybe I should knit one and see if I can convert someone else too :)
